I take my 22 month old & 1-5 year old relatives 1-2 times/month. Sometimes, just to go feed the goats for 15 minutes & other times to spend 3-4 hours. The Halloween Night of the Living Farm event is a real treat for families. I was disappointed this year did not have the costume contest. Lots of games, flash light scavenger hunt, dancing stage, scary horse drawn ride (& another not scary), costume parade, etc. for about $8/person (1 & under free). The donation is so worth it b/c the daily entrance is free (donations welcome).
BIG FUN!!!

This is one of the absolute best entertainment attractions for families in the Kansas City area. With a petting zoo, hay rides, pony rides, fishing and mining for small children it is a entire day of fun for the whole family.
Wonderful, Free Zoo to take your children to! Reviewed by HelloMetro User on

Deanne Rose Children's Farmstead is always free to get in to. They have several animals to go and feed/watch. They have added several new areas. They now offer a fishing lake, hayride, mining and pony rides, for a small fee. They have expanded their grounds and have added a new playground and a pioneer area where you can go into a real teepee and sit down for class in an old school building. They are expanding each and every year. You can also have a birthday party there. Super place to take the kids from March through October.
