• The Vein Treatment and Aesthetic Center is the most experienced business in Kansas City for the treatment of varicose and spider veins. Dr. Richardson pioneered the use of light waves (intense pulsed light or IPL) to treat veins in 1996 and added the use of laser (intense pulsed laser or IPL) to the options in 1999. He has always used injection sclerotherapy to treat varicose veins, reticular and spider veins.
  
  The Aesthetic Center started using IPL in 2001 for Photo Rejuvenation of the skin on the face, neck, and hands. In 2003 the Aesthetic Center started using Thermage to tighten the skin on the face. Since 2002, the Vein Treatment Center has used the Endovenous laser Treatment (EVLT) as an option to remove the Long Saphenous vein and is the pioneer of this procedure in Kansas City.
  
  As a surgeon, Dr. Richardson has always performed surgery on varicose veins but has improved the technique to the point where a high ligation and stripping of the Long or Short Saphenous vein n ever requires hospitalization and is performed in the nearby Ambulatory Surgery Center of KC, Inc. as an outpatient treatment. He introduced the method called "needle phlebectomy" to KC in 1996 and now it is the standard procedure used on tortuous or winding veins. The procedures or treatments and medications used in the Center are all FDA approved.
